I’ve always had mixed feelings about George R. R. Martin, and I can’t tell whether or not I’m fully invested in A Song of Ice and Fire. For me, it will depend on how he finishes the series.
You might tell me, “it’s the journey, not the destination,” but lets be honest – the journey has been choppy, incestual, bloody, a bit lengthy, and I guess I just expected a happier ending…
I do appreciate the multicolored characters in ASOIAF, and I love how long they are because it gave me something good to read for a while, BUT If I read 7,000+ pages and a Lannister sits the Iron Throne, I might have to pay G.R.R.M a little visit. -.- That’s all I’m saying. (I don’t think this will happen, but I’ll share my predictions in a future blog).
What do you think about George R. R. Martin? Have you read anything else he’s written? What do you think of him personally? What’s up with the hat and turquoise turtle?

I like him, but I think he looks like a rugged old sailor/fisherman, lol.
I read somewhere that he’s actually told the ending of his story to the two guys that make the Game of Thrones show for HBO…just in case.
I read his book called Fevre Dream and it was interesting. It was about vampires and steamer boats. O.o
I’ve been wondering about that – He better get those last two books done in the next 2-4 years, or the show will finish first!
Also, yay for making the first comment on the website. 🙂
I am thinking the next book should come out sometime next year, probably late, but that is just my own speculation.
And yay!
This is pretty late but oh well. I enjoyed most of the books until Dance of Dragons. I have to be honest I didn’t even finish the book because I got tired of a new person coming in and basically no progress made a three different journeys of original characters. I just feel like he sits there and goes how can I many this more painfully long for my readers?! Oh I know!! Add three side characters and give them half the chapters in the next book!!
