When I was young and growing up reading each of the Harry Potter books as they came out, I remember hating Snape and being mostly sure he was a villian. Or at the very least sure that any good he did could not make up for the bad. I’d like to think I’d see it now, discovering his story as an adult, but as a kid one of the best and most emotional parts of this series was discovering that Snape was a hero all along.

Dumbledore, Dobby, and Snape’s deaths were the ones that hit me the hardest.
