Happy 122nd birthday, J.R.R. Tolkien!

Happy 122nd birthday, J.R.R. Tolkien!

“John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (J.R.R. Tolkien), (3 January 1892 – 2 September 1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the classic high fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.”

Personally, I’m thankful that authors such as Tolkien (of which there have been precious few) have used their imagination and literary gifts to share their fantasy worlds with us! Can you imagine a world without Gandalf, Sauron, Legolas, Aragorn, or Bilbo and Frodo? The world would be robbed of magic without this man. Here’s to remembering his 122nd birthday! *cheers*

and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
